Get to know the Eva Rider Approach

The foundation of my therapeutic work is based on a relationship of compassion, trust and respect. From this point we embark together on a journey to find relief from suffering and solutions for obstacles that block our path to the fulfillment of meaning and purpose.

Let's Talk

Eva Rider | Approach

In times of transition, creativity and meaning often ask to be rediscovered. My work is devoted to helping you listen to the images, symbols, and metaphors that arise from your inner life — especially through dreams — as gateways to insight, vitality, and renewal. Rather than focusing on what is “wrong,” we orient toward what is seeking expression, integration, and wholeness.

I work from a Jungian depth psychology perspective, shaped by an imaginal and embodied approach. With over 30 years of training and experience, I draw on alchemy, myth, fairy tale, and symbolic systems to support the natural intelligence of the psyche. These traditions remind us that intuition, imagination, and instinct are not lost capacities, but living resources waiting to be reawakened.

My work often accompanies people through life transitions — moments of change, questioning, loss, or reorientation — including relationship shifts, early adulthood, midlife passages, creative thresholds, and identity exploration. In my own life and clinical experience, I have seen again and again that within our challenges lie unexpected sources of courage, humor, resilience, and aliveness.

Roots

My work is rooted in Jungian depth psychology and shaped by a feminine, imaginal path. I weave together:

  • Dreamwork — entering the symbolic language of the soul

  • Alchemy & Astrology — archetypal maps of transformation linking psyche, cosmos, and matter

  • Fairy Tale & Myth — timeless stories revealing patterns of the collective unconscious

  • Tarot & Hermetic Kabbalah — symbolic systems illuminating the journey of individuation

  • Psyche–Soma Integration — practices inspired by Marion Woodman’s BodySoul Rhythms®, expressive arts, and movement that embody the symbolic process

A Vessel for Transformation

I offer a safe, creative, and reflective container where images, symbols, and stories can unfold at their own pace. This work supports not only healing, but the emergence of meaning, imagination, and a more embodied relationship to life. Through the integration of spirit, psyche, and body, new possibilities for renewal and coherence can arise.

How We Work Together

Our work may include:

  • Dialogue, dream exploration, and active imagination

  • Astrology and symbolic inquiry as mirrors of inner process

  • Creative expression through image, movement, ritual, or writing

“A dream that is not understood remains a mere occurrence, understood it becomes an experience.”

- C.G Jung

“Dreams are the quickest way into our inner world. They astonish us with their wisdom about past, present and future.”

- Marion Woodman

What is The BodySoul Approach*?

The roots of the BodySoul work grow out of a deep respect for dreams, C. G. Jung’s understanding of the psyche, and the wisdom of the body. Jungian analyst Marion Woodman has nurtured and developed these roots through her passionate commitment to feminine consciousness both in her writing and her devotion to the embodied soul.

The BodySoul approach evolved over a 30-year period of collaboration between Marion Woodman, Mary Hamilton, and Ann Skinner in their BodySoul Rhythms® Intensives. In these intensives, the leaders create a supportive space where each participant can access and use her own individual dream imagery to discover her authentic self and speak with a free, open voice. Art and mask-making offer space for the unlived energy (the shadow) to emerge through the body, psyche, and voice.

The imagination is the bridge between psyche and soma. Dream work, movement, voice, and creative expression are the core of the BodySoul work. The safety of the temenos (sacred space) created by the structure and format of the intensives, allows the healing of old wounds, the emergence of new energies, and the embodied living of an integrated life.

Recent scientific discoveries regarding specific neurobiological processes affirm the transformative power of the BodySoul work. Though the field of interpersonal neurobiology is new, the experience of it is not. With primary belief in the concept that the perceived and perceiver are one and are continually interacting with and affecting each other, the leaders of the BodySoul programs are strongly committed to integrating the scientific, the psychological, and the creative as their work evolves.
